         EXERCISE | VALUE IDENTIFICATION EXERCISE

         Deciding your core values

Values and beliefs are fundamental to the setting of goals. When looking for our true values, the
questions to ask yourself might include :
         · What is important to you?
         · What is your goal?
         · What is important about this goal?
         · What do I value or treasure about this goal?
         · What meaning does this goal have for me?
Values measure the meaning life holds for us. To arrive at the value we must ask the above
questions. If wanting a family will bring you love and a sense of belonging, then these are the
         core values behind the goal.

Now, enter your ten values in the Governing Core Value column, (don’t worry about the order,
that’s what this exercise will determine). Work through the exercise, following the guidelines in the
example given before. You may be surprised to discover your number one core value.
