SUMMARY
A caption is a short explanation that accompanies an article , photograph or illustration. It is
also a line displaying the dialogue and description of action situations along the bottom of
the sreen for a movie or television show. In the legal world, a caption is the title of a
document. The world also describes the process of creating one of this labels or titles.
A caption in graph or chart is numbered label, such as Figure 1, that you can add to a figure,
a table, an equation, or another object.
Using figures such as diagrams, tables, graphs, charts or maps can be a very useful way to
show and emphasise information in your report. They can be used to compile data in an orderly
way or to amplify a point and are a useful tool to help your readers understand complex or
numerous data (Weaver and Weaver, 1977).
