FEATURE ARTIST: Linda Tennies

Linda started painting when
she signed up for Linda
Kassela’s watercolor class. It
resonated with her, providing
a creative outlet. It also helps
her relax as she gets absorbed
into a project, almost like
meditation.

She favors doing projects that
tell a story. She also loves
doing portraits. She paints
portraits of residents and other
friends as well as of well-
known celebrities.She has a
mixed media process. She
starts by painting a water
color. Water colors are quite
fragile, so she photographs
the water color and then plays
with various digital processes
and filters until it has a look
she likes. At that point she has
some of them printed to
canvas.

Linda has sold some of her
pieces, but she really creates
her projects for the enjoyment
she has creating them. Over
the years since that first
watercolor class she has
developed her own style with
vibrant colors and tones. You
may see her projects at the
Club Craft Fair and on
Facebook.
