The whole purpose of this knot is to display
31 the knotting technique of the good luck knot
with compound outer loops. Make the knot with two
different color cords for added variation.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
1.Tie a pink and a red cord into a good luck knot
with compound outer loops. Ensure that the pink
cord forms the outer circle and tie a cloverleaf knot
on every loop. There are eighteen ear loops in all,
including both cord ends. Press every third ear loop
in the first layer, and every third ear loop in the
second layer.
2. Lengthen the red outer loops in the outermost
circle. Cut each loop and tie both cord ends into a
double connection knot and a lingzhi knot.
This complex design work is quite labor-
32 intensive. Moreover, tightening the knot
so that the cords are arranged properly is a
challenge and needs to be done very carefully
so that the final appearance is neat and tidy.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
1. First tie a red cord into twelve double connec-
tion knots and round compound double connec-
tion knots.
2.Tie a silver cord into a bat design and continue
weaving these along the double coin and round
compound double coin knots on the outer edge.
A large number of silver cords is needed. Hide the
connections inside the bats.
