This creation is a display of the shiftweave
35 pan chang knotting technique.The rest
of the knot is tied with double cords which high-
light the shiftweave portion in the central knot.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Arrange the cords according to the design on
a piece of chipboard or a shallow cardboard box.
Pay particular attention to shared cords.
2. Start by tying a cloverleaf knot. Upon reaching
the pan chang knot body with a 90-degree shift,
weave another round in the shiftweave portion
and tie a side knot on each outer loop.
The central part of this design is made
36 by combining the knotting techniques of
the shiftweave pan chang knot and the pan chang
good luck knot.
TYING INSTRUCTIONS
1. First, tie a pan chang good luck knot.When
the cord ends reach the center, use the 90-degree
one up, one down shifweave pan chang knotting
technique to tie the first layer of a pan chang
good luck knot.
2. Along the outer edge, use a single cord end to
tie four ru yi knots and four pan chang good luck
knots.
3. Finally, use the pan chang good luck knotting
technique to tie a second layer of pan chang
good luck knots.
