Urban Design-Residential Complex

Location: The residential complex is located in the
Media City district in Dubai-U.A.E.
Land Area: 3500 Sq. m

Design Concept:
The main idea is ‘walkability’ and to design a car-free site,
with easy access to facilities in walking distance of each
other.
Dubai has a hot and humid climate with intense radiation of
the sun during summer and walking outdoors for a long time
can be an overwhelming experience. Therefore:

-Two rows of buildings are designed and in the each row,
buildings are connected to each other by a corridor on their
ground floor.
-Public spaces with lakes are considered between these two
rows of buildings with a lower height surface. The two rows
of buildings are connected to each other by bridges which
would cast shadow on public spaces.
-The buildings are stair-shaped for casting more shadow on
public spaces.
