(1) Whip the rope about eight inches from the end and unlay the strands
A, B, and C. Whip each strand end (below, left). Form an eye and open
up the strands a, b, and c in the standing part. (2) Lay the working end
over the standing part with A on top and to the left. Tuck B under b, from
right to left, and pull it through.
