Rhythm/Rhyme: “Engine, Engine”
• Everyone speaks “Engine, Engine” together
• Repeat rhyme, marching in place to the steady beat
• “What is it called when we’re keeping a steady pulse?” (keeping the beat)
• Pitch – the high or low quality of a sound
• Repeat rhyme in a high-pitched voice & a low-pitched voice
• Sing, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” to use high & low singing voices
• Sing again to twinkle hands to the steady beat and show high & low to the pitches
of the song
• “Our hands were twinkling to the __________?” (steady beat)

• Stretch for high voice & crouch for low voice
• Echo MM as she creates high & low singing voices
• Continue showing high on head & low on lap
• MF sings, “Who’s That?” and everyone joins in
• “What words start with a low pitch and then a high pitch?” (Who’s that, Daddy,
Mommy)
• Sing again showing low pitch on lap & high pitch on head
