                   •  Practiced keeping the steady beat to “Engine, Engine”
                   •  Pitch – high or low quality of a sound
                   •  Practiced speaking and singing with high & low pitched voices
                   •  Sang “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”
                   •  Learned two new songs, “Punchinella” and “Who’s That”
                   •  Played rhythm sticks & drums, and listened for the
                       difference between the sounds
                   •  Saw a performance on the Japanese Koto

               Lesson Begins: MM introduces the word, song & instrument of the week

                              Word: beat – the steady pulse of music

               Warm-Up:
                   •  Frankie Dance: dance with one side of the body at a time
                          o  Horizontal Eye Tracking: stretch arms out, follow a thumb across the
                              body, opening/closing a giant book

                          o  Vertical eye tracking: lizard crawl, watching thumbs
                   •  Marching in Place while Stirring the Soup
                   •  Vocal Warm-Up: speak, whisper, shout, sing
                   •  Calm Body
