Traditional Gingerbread
Nothing beats the sweet and spicy taste of gingerbread during the holidays!
Enjoy the wistful nostalgia of holiday cheer with this traditional recipe.
Ingredients: Combine butter and brown sugar in a
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened large bowl and beat until creamy. Add
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed the molasses and combine well. Add egg
1 cup unsulphured molasses and vanilla and combine well.

1 tsp vanilla extract In a separate bowl, whisk the flour,
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves,
1 1/2 tsp baking soda and salt together.

1 tsp ground ginger Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet
1/2 tsp ground cloves until completely combined. Very carefully
3/4 tsp salt stir in the boiling water until smooth.
1 cup boiling water
Pour the batter into the prepared baking
Instructions: pan and bake in the center rack for 40
minutes or until a toothpick comes out
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease or line with mostly clean.
