busy to assist faculty or students. Dr. Loren Bensley and
Dr. Karen Denard Goldman were both very influential to
me professionally. Dr. Bensley at the local ESG level and
Dr. Goldman at the national SOPHE level. Their examples
and dedication to our profession are invaluable.
What challenges do you think ESG as an organization
will face in the next decade?
ESG will continue to face challenges in the next decade
especially as the political landscape changes. Changes will
affect education, health care delivery and how health
education is perceived and delivered.
What challenges do you think Gammans as health
education professionals will be dealing with in the next
decade?
Gammans will continue to search for ways to deliver
preventive health care to individuals and communities.
They have come to recognize the important of prevention
and the challenge will be to influence others on the value
of primary prevention. All these efforts will promote the
discipline of Health Education by elevating our standards,
ideals and competencies in professionally trained men and
women.

Family/Friends, Energetic, Passionate, Worker, and
Collaborator
Any other comments/statements you wish to include?
First I am very honored to receive this award and
recognition. It has been an honor and privilege to serve Eta
Sigma Gamma in many capacities. I have thoroughly
enjoyed this experience. It has been exciting to work with
students and faculty see their professional growth.
