Range View Elementary is an International Baccalaureate® (IB) World School where students develop into creative, independent, internationally-minded, lifelong learners. Students work together to learn about the world around them through inquiry, transdisciplinary teaching and learning, and re ection. We prepare our students to be knowledgeable about our global community while also building their capacity to contribute to it.
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE®
Range View implements the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum framework, which includes the knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes, and action that elementary students need for inspiration and success. Our teachers and students collaboratively design conceptual units of study that incorporate the Colorado Academic Standards. Throughout their PYP careers, students continuously build upon their knowledge, ending with a culminating and collaborative project known as the PYP Exhibition. Students work together
to inquire into real-life issues or problems and present to the whole school community.
STUDENT-LED ACTION
Students are immersed in experiences that inspire creativity, provoke questioning, and provide opportunities for problem-solving and gaining new knowledge. Through these learning experiences, students are inspired to
take action. Examples of student-led action include: raising awareness of The Invisible Challenge about the plight of orphaned children in Uganda; starting an anti-bullying club; supporting a friend with cancer; collecting gently used books for the African Library Project; organizing a food drive for the Windsor Food Pantry; and collecting 30,000 pop-tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. We are proud of all of our students and look forward to what they will do next.
