P. 3
Flood is overflow water from the canals, streams, river, lake, and seas
brought by the typhoon and heavy rain. Enough amount of water is good for
both plants and animals but too much water from a flood can cause more
harm for plants, animals, and humans than good.
1. A flood washes away and drowns both new seedlings and old plants.
2. A flood drowns and kills both small, and big land animals and
humans.
3. A flood brings illness to both humans and animals due to loss of
food supply and germ-infection.
4. A flood carries flood-born microbes that cause abortion of fetuses
and eggs.
5. A flood carries debris and garbage that damage coral reefs and harm
aquatic animals.
6. Water from floods causes some insects to reproduce more easily like
mosquitoes and frogs.
7. On the other hand, a flood brings a new layer of fertile soil to a
riverbank. New plants will then grow in that soil. As the plants grow,
animals that feed on them will stay in the area and reproduce.
