her mouth to his. A gentelness and a force that she couldn’t resist. Rosemarie made herself a

promise that she would stay longer in his arms if the opportunity ever presented itself again.

She, of course, felt she pretty much owed her life to Gideon Thacker for saving her life from

the bad man in the cave. His caring about her was evident as he rescued her and held her

trembling body when he knew she was out of danger.

It was while she saddled a young bay colt, that she remembered these moments.

One of the horses in the nearby corral nickered and she instinctively looked in the direction of

the horse’s attention. There, out a ways off, rode a man. The man rode a fine looking horse and

led another just as impressive. She noticed something familiar about the way this rider set his

mount and the easy manner the horses walked.

It was Gid! She tried to calm herself and remain in the corral working with her horses but as

soon as she tightened up the latigo on her saddle, she walked out toward him without even

               realizing it.

                    CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

Molly came out and gave the news. A fine looking baby, GIRL! She reported that both the

mother and child were doing fine and Claudia wanted to see her husband.

Juan got up and reached into the cupboard and pulled out a bottle of brandy he had stashed just

               for this occasion.

“We drink to the birth of this Niña and the good life che will have on Tamale Ridge!”

Juan said as he poured a little in each coffee cup sitting on the table.
