The sun was just coming up and it looked like it would be a beautiful day. Big Jim and Juan

stayed in the kitchen while they drank a toast to the birth of the new one. Molly had a sip

               herself.

“Thank you Señora,” said Juan, “I too happy Juan, he no haf to breeng theese Muchachita

into theese world by hees self.”

“Same goes for me,” stated Big Jim.

Gilberto was in the bedroom as if shot, out of a cannon. He looked into the eyes of his wife and

the mother of his daughter. With his own eyes glistening, he smiled and told Claudia, how

happy he was. Gilberto looked upon this miracle from the heavens above and the woman who

had become his wife. He felt so blessed to be where he was in the world today. Meeting Señor

Thacker and coming to America to work with these fine horses was the beginning of a perfect

life. Then the trip back into Mexico and meeting Claudia, knowing that she was the one for him

and finally becoming his wife, having a new house to live in for as long as he wanted to stay

here. He was overwhelmed to say the least. Claudia’s words brought him out of his daydream.

“You’re not disappointed she’s not your son are you husband?

“I could not be disappointed. Now that I know you and our child are safe.”

“I wanted a son. Now, we will try again for a son,” he chided.

“We will wait a while!” chuckled his wife.

                    CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR

Gideon stepped off his horse and dropped the reins. As if on cue, they ran into each other’s

arms. They spoke not a word for several minutes and just hugged.

“Rosemarie,”spoke Gid. “I am so sorry to hear of the death of your father.”

                                                                                                          149
