Assessment
Drawing on the theoretical backgrounds, readings, workshop content and experience, students will write a 1500-word reflective piece on:
• Outline the different forms of capital and what each entails.
• Describe your ‘taste’ in sport/health-related experiences as they relate to Bourdieu’s different forms of capital.
• Describe what kinds of capital do you have in order to engage in sport/health in your home, school and country?
• How do others see your different types of capital in sport/health? Are they being recognized in the different contexts? How does the (mis)recognition make you feel about further (dis)engagement in sport/health?
• How does the present ‘investment’ in the different types of capital have an impact on the future ‘success’ in sport/health?
• How does your historical/familial background have an impact on your choices in sport/health-related experiences?
• What kinds of emotions are triggered when you listen to the radio drama or read the comic?
• How does the radio drama/comic increase your capacity to learn more about ethnic diversity in sport/health-related experiences?
