THE POWER OF TAKING THE PLUNGE

a built-in survival mechanism. The human
species is much more complex and has very
different needs. Our brains are very different
too. Based on our brain’s size in comparison to
other species, we have the largest prefrontal
cortex. This part of the brain is the gray matter
of the anterior part of the frontal lobe. It is
highly developed in us and plays a role in the
regulation of complex cognitive, emotional, and
               behavioral functioning. We are without
               question, God’s greatest earthly miracle.

But if a seed stays in its package at the store or
lies in a dry place without water and nutrients,
it can’t fulfill its potential. If an animal is not
placed in its right environment or natural
habitat, its potential is limited or its extinction
is inevitable. The right environment for all
creation (man included) is fundamental for
growth as well as survival. In the right
environment, all creation can fulfill its purpose.
Let me emphasize those last few words, “Fulfill
its purpose.” All creation has a purpose.
I once heard Zig Ziglar give an illustration that
I’ll never forget. I won’t tell it with the same zest
as Zig did, but I think you’ll get the point. Most
