QC Objective 2: Measure, Report and Improve Outcomes Data for all Surgical Cases
Outcomes Measures and Continual Quality Improvement (CQI) in Clinical Care:
SUL is committed to a CQI process of our clinical outcomes measures that represent variability in care. Not all
variability is controllable but an analysis is needed to determine if any improvements can be made.
As part of our CQI commitment, SUL evaluates the root cause of variability in each activity, and if that activity’s
variation is deemed to be preventable, physicians bring the team together to make improvements as needed.
Table 3 on the next page details SUL’s Outcomes Results for 2016 for all of its surgical and medical cases, for
both inpatient and day surgery.
