Acceptable Apparel
Examples of business casual attire are as follows: slacks, khakis, button-up shirts, collared golf/polo shirts, skirts and dresses, slacks, dressier capri pants, cardigans, turtlenecks, sweaters, and blouses. Leather soled shoes, pumps, and loafers represent examples of acceptable footwear.
Inappropriate Apparel
Examples of inappropriate apparel would include: jeans of any kind (unless otherwise permitted on special occasions), beachwear, workout attire, athletic shoes, and t-shirts (unless specified above). Any item that is too tight or revealing should be avoided. Items that contain suggestive language and images, political or religious slogans, or others that may otherwise be offensive is prohibited. When in doubt, employees should consult their manager or Human Resources regarding this policy. Erbe, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to determine the suitability for the workplace of any item worn by its employees.
Religious Attire
Accommodations to the attire and grooming policy will be made for employees as required by law in observance of a religious practice covered by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Casual Attire
Employees in logistics and technical services are permitted to wear jeans and athletic shoes or other shoes or boots appropriate to their position for safety purposes. Employees are permitted to wear jeans to our offices on designated Friday’s; however, jeans are not considered appropriate when meeting with clients, vendors, or customers. Except on designated Friday’s, management employees should always maintain business casual dress.
Tattoos & Piercings
Tattoos and piercings (other than ear lobes) should be covered as much as possible. Tattoos and piercings are not consistent with professional appearance standards and must be covered or removed during business hours.
6-5. Attendance
Employees are expected to maintain a good attendance record. This means that employees should arrive on time and keep unexcused absences to a minimum. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may negatively affect performance and an employee’s potential for advancement, as well as lead to disciplinary action.
Employees who expect to be tardy or absent are required to notify their supervisor at the earliest time possible via telephone or other prearranged communication method. If the immediate supervisor is unavailable or fails to respond in a timely manner, employees must contact another member of the management team or the Human Resources department.
Unauthorized absences exceeding three (3) consecutive shifts or working days is a violation of this policy, and will be considered job abandonment, which may lead to termination of employment.
