General Information
Time Away from Work
Erbe provides a generous allotment of vacation, sick and holiday benefits to employees. Employees must work a minimum of 30 hours per week to accrue full-time paid time-off benefits. Part-time employees accrue vacation time on a pro-rated basis.
Erbe incorporates paid time off into two separate accruals: Vacation time is accrued based on years of service;
New employees accrue a prorated portion of vacation and sick time based on their hire date.
Many states have adopted unique paid leave laws and these laws are constantly evolving. As part of the onboarding process, employees will be provided with any state specific policies applicable to their employment. The most recent version of any state mandated leave policies will always be available on Erbe’s Human Resources Portal.
Grant Policy
The amount of time each employee receives is based on an equal accrual per pay period; however, employees are afforded their annual paid-time off allotments as a grant on January 1st of each calendar year or at the time of hire. This time is immediately available for use. Upon termination of any kind, the employee must repay any unearned vacation or sick time used prior to the time of termination.
Paid Time-Off at Termination
Accrued but unused vacation time is payable to terminating employees on the last paycheck, minus normal withholdings.
Sick time is not payable upon termination, unless otherwise required by law.
10-1. Vacation
Employees earn vacation accruals based on years of service. The formulas used to calculate the vacation accruals do account for an employee who has an anniversary mid‐year that earns them a higher accrual rate.
Employees do not accrue vacation time during leaves of absence, regardless of whether it is paid or unpaid leave.
