10-4. Company Holidays
Erbe observes the following holidays as paid holidays:
Holidays that fall on a weekend will usually be observed on either the Friday before or the Monday after, at Erbe’s sole discretion. Employees must be actively employed and not on leave of any kind on the day of the paid holiday to be paid holiday pay.
Employees wishing to observe religious holidays, which are not general company holidays, have the option of utilizing available vacation time.
10-5. Funeral Leave
Employees are eligible to take up to three (3) days off with pay to attend the funeral or attend to personal matters related to the death of an immediate family member. Immediate family is defined as spouse or domestic partner, child, parent, grandparent, sibling or relative of the same by marriage or domestic partnership.
If a holiday or part of a vacation occurs on any of the days required for bereavement leave, the employee will not receive holiday/vacation pay in addition to funeral paid time off. An excused absence for family death may not be retroactive, postponed or split.
An employee may wish to utilize available paid vacation leave to attend the funeral of a friend or family member who is not considered immediate family.
Employees must utilize the Erbe Human Resources Portal when requesting funeral leave. For more instructions regarding accessing this system, see separate instructions or contact Human Resources.
10-6. Jury/Witness Duty
Erbe will pay employees who are called to serve on jury duty as a juror or by a subpoena as a witness. The employee will receive jury duty/witness pay equivalent to the employee’s regular pay, not to exceed eight hours per day for a maximum of five days. Should jury duty service extend beyond five days, individuals may be allowed to be away from employment for the duration of the jury service although no further compensation will be paid, unless otherwise required by law.
Employees must provide a copy of the jury summons or witness subpoena to their supervisor as soon as possible so proper arrangements can be made to accommodate the absence. The employee is expected to report for work whenever the court schedule permits, including partial days, should they be released from service before the close of the workday.
