ARTICLE I
                                          MEMBERSHIP DUES & RESPONSIBILITIES

            Section 1.  Dues
               A.  Amount: The annual dues total charged to each individual institution is $3,200.
               B.  Date Payable: The annual dues and membership form of each member college shall be due and payable on or before September 15th
                   of each calendar year. In the case where this requirement is not met, the college will be subject to the following:
                       a.  A late fee of $500.00.
                       b.  Membership dues that are not postmarked or received by the NJCAA National Office by October 1st will not be accepted and
                          the institution will no longer be a member of the NJCAA.
                       c.  The NJCAA Appeal Process as outlined in Article VIII may be used if necessary.
               C.  New Membership: By majority vote of the Board of Regents, membership may be awarded or denied to any institution.
               D.  Division Declaration: The Board Committees for Division I, II, & III will review the final divisional commitments and shall approve a four-
                   year district playoff during the NJCAA National Convention for each commitment cycle and in conjunction with the schedule below.

                   Once  set,  no  changes  shall  be  permitted  within  the  division  structure  for  the  cycle;  without  a  formal  approval  from  the  NJCAA
                   Championship and Events staff.  The formal approval process will include:
                   a. Letter of request from the President (must include the sport, gender, the current division and the division they would like to change to,
                       and an explanation for the change during the commitment period.)
                   b. Letter from the respective Region Director approving the change.
                   c. $300 administrative fee. (non-refundable)

                   The NJCAA will postpone the annual Divisional Commitment requirement, originally slated for Fall 2020, to Fall 2021. With so much
                   uncertainty impacting NJCAA schools due to COVID-19, the NJCAA felt it was in the best interest of the association and its member
                   colleges to move the declarations to 2021. Currently, colleges are required to make their divisional sport declarations every four years.
                   The new schedule will reflect the following:
                     2017-2018   Colleges will be required to complete and submit a divisional commitment form in the
                               Fall of 2017 for the 2018-2022 commitment cycle. The commitment will begin August 1,
                     2018-2019   Commitment in Place
                     2019-2020   Commitment in Place
                     2021-2022   Colleges will be required to complete a divisional commitment form in the Fall of 2021 for the 2023-2027 cycle.
                               The commitment begins August 1, 2023 and runs through July 31, 2027.

                     2022-2023   Final year of the Commitment Period (extended one year due to COVID-19).
                     2023-2027   New commitment cycle begins.
            Section 2.  Certified Sports of the NJCAA
               A. The certified sports of the NJCAA are as follows:
             Baseball- Fall   Football           Lacrosse- Fall        Soccer-Fall
             Baseball - Spring   Golf – Fall     Lacrosse – Spring     Soccer - Spring    Wrestling
             Basketball       Golf – Spring      Outdoor Track & Field   Swimming & Diving   Beach Volleyball - Spring

             Cross Country    Indoor Track & Field   Softball – Spring   Tennis – Spring

            Section 3.  Conditions and Obligations of Membership
               As a condition of membership, the member of this organization shall:
               A. Administer their athletic programs in accordance with the Articles of Incorporation, the constitution, bylaws, executive regulations and
                  other legislative acts of this association.
               B. Establish and maintain a high standard of ethics and fair play.
               C. Pay the annual dues before the deadline set by the Board of Regents.
