Article IV
ADMINISTRATIVE
Section 1 - The Elective Officers and their Duties
A. Board Chair Shall:
A.1. Preside at all board meetings.
A.2. Work with the President/CEO to make necessary decisions on all points not specifically governed by the Constitution and
Bylaws.
A.3. Delegate responsibility for handling all duties not specifically provided for in the Constitution and Bylaws.
A.4. Represent or delegate someone to represent the Association when necessary.
A.5. Authorize the appointment of Board of Regent or Regional Director to represent the NJCAA at all National Meets or
Tournaments, unless otherwise provided.
A.6. Cast the deciding ballot in all Board Meetings in the event of a tie vote on any motion.
A.7. Be bonded for an amount not less than fifty-thousand dollars ($50,000.00).
A.8. Be responsible for approving the appointments of individuals to serve on NJCAA special or standing committees.
A.9. Review the performance of the NJCAA President/CEO and include the Board of Regents as necessary.
A.10. Work in an advisory capacity in conjunction with the NJCAA Board of Regents and the NJCAA National Office on past, current
and future direction, issues and projects.
B. Vice Chair Shall:
B.1. The Vice Chair shall preside in the absence of the Board Chair
B.2. Assist the President/CEO by supervising the work of all standing and special committees
B.3. Assume all duties and responsibilities delegated to him/her by the Board Chair
B.4. Assume and carry out responsibilities as a member of the Board of Regents
C. Men’s Senior Administrator Shall:
C.1. Serve as a voting member of the NJCAA Board of Regents
C.2. Can chair or vice chair one standing or sport committee
C.3 Represents the men’s sports overall on the Board of Regents
C.4. Assists Board Chair with selecting all sports committee members
D. Women’s Administrator Shall:
F.1. Serves as a voting member of the NJCAA Board of Regents
F.2. Can chair or vice chair one standing or sport committee
F.3. Represents the women’s sports overall on the Board of Regents
F.4. Assists Board chair with selecting all sports committee members
E. Regional Director:
a. Included are the minimum roles and responsibilities assigned by the NJCAA to elected Directors of NJCAA Regions. Individual
regions may require additional roles and responsibilities of their directors if not in conflict with the NJCAA Policy or the roles and
responsibilities included below.
b. Member colleges in the regions, at the annual regional meeting, may adopt policies and regulations for their region if said
policies and regulations are not in conflict with this constitution, Articles of Incorporation, or the bylaws of this corporation.
c. Administrative:
i. Two (2) Regional Directors shall be elected by the representatives of the member colleges within that region in
accordance with the procedures set forth in the Association bylaws.
ii. One Regional Director is responsible for women’s sports within the region and one is responsible for men’s sports within
the region.
iii. Candidates for Regional Director must have on file with the region written support of their college president.
iv. If, for any reason, an elected Regional Director is unable to complete the full term, the Assistant Regional Director will
accede to the position and will serve as the Acting Regional Director until the region elects a Region Director.
v. If a region fails to elect a Regional Director, or fails to fill a vacancy, the NJCAA Board of Regents may appoint an Acting
Regional Director until such time the region fills the position.
