CHAPTER 1

            ELECTRICITY

                     Checkpoint-6

          Question 1

In which type of combination of different resistors will have equal value

          of electric current through them

          Question 2

If different resistors have same value of electric potential across them,

in which way they are connected to each other?

          Question 3

Why, we do not use series combination of connecting electric

          appliances in household circuit?

          Question 4

What do you understand by mixed combination of resistances?

          K. Heating Effect of Current:

          • A cell or battery is the source of electrical energy.

          • Due to the chemical reactions inside them a potential difference is

set up, which is responsible for the flow of current through any

              circuit.

          • So, to maintain this flow, the source continuously has to provide

              energy.

          • But only a part of this energy helps in maintaining the current

consumed into useful work. Rest of it may be expiated in the form

of heat by raising the temperature of the appliances.
