Thursday: Cultivating a Spirit of Prayer

Romans 8:26 (KJV)
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we
ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Important Notes

Every true leader must cultivate and have the spirit of prayer

You invite it and cultivate it by strong desire

We win first in the spirit before the victory shows on the outside. We prevail with God
first before we prevail with men

This spirit of prayer can last for a long time, it can be for months and it is invited by
desire

To get into that spirit of prayer so that the Holy Spirit can take over in that prayer we
must
have our emotions in communication with the Holy Spirits emotions

Groaning in the spirit is an emotion of the Holy Spirit being expressed through us as we
give our emotions to the Holy Spirit

To connect our emotions to the Holy Spirit we need to sing the right songs that will
guide our emotions to communicate with the Holy Spirits emotions

Keep a diary of prayer – write down what you are praying for
