Wednesday: Prayer Of Intercession (Part 1)

Luke 18:1(KJV)

Important Notes

Jesus said men ought always to pray and not to give up. Prayer is a relationship, and
sometimes it’s a response of our spirit to a need.

What’s happening in your city, your area or your town? If we have a lot of crime,
violence and evil in our communities eventually the perpetrators will grow to become
leaders in positions of authority in our communities unless we stand in the gap.

1 Timothy 2:2 says first of all prayer, which means before you complain and judge or do
any other thing you must first of all pray. God is telling us that this is our primary
response.

In praying and interceding for others we get a deep kind of fulfilment that we never get
from praying for ourselves.

Prayer and intercession is a discipline, so just like athlete’s train in their discipline to
develop their ability in their respective sport, so it is with intercessory prayer. You need
to train yourself in the discipline of it. It won’t happen automatically.

In intercession you don’t just pray once and walk away, the rules for intercession
requires that you pray again and again until you get a note of victory.

What is a note of victory? A note of victory is a burst of joy and laughter that comes
from your spirit without you even planning. Or a song of joy, praise and thanksgiving
that will come up from your spirit. At that time, in the spirit you’ll just know that it’s
done.
