EXT. MONASTERY - DAY
David comes out of the house, walking Rocky by his leash.
It’s a beautiful summer day. They go for a stroll. All the
while, David has a goofy smile glued on.
ALBERT (V.O.)
Anyone who saw David wouldn’t think
much of him, or at least they
wouldn’t notice anything off about
the boy. Sure, his mind is probably
the most convoluted mess anyone
could ever come across. Or perhaps
it’s ridiculously simple. Both.
Neither. Whatever the case may be,
it doesn’t necessarily show. It’s
just David Childs, a small-town boy
going about his small-town life.
THOMAS FORD, an 11-year-old with blond hair, comes down a
perpendicular street and sees David.
THOMAS
Godpa!
ALBERT (V.O.)
Ah, and that’s Thomas, another
grandson of mine. And David’s
godson. Are you keeping up?
DAVID
Travis!
ALBERT (V.O.)
David always calls him ‘Travis’, or
‘Theodore’, or any other name that
starts with a T, just to mess with
him. Stop confusing our viewers,
David.
THOMAS
Travis is your ass!
ALBERT (V.O.)
Language, young man.
They walk together.
DAVID
Sorry. Although, if you didn’t look
like an ass, I wouldn’t make that
mistake.
