Yunus Emre (1238-1320): Yunus Emre, dünyaca ünlü Türk halk þairidir. Hayatý boyunca insanlara;
doðruluðu ve doðru yaþamayý öðütlemiþtir. Þiirlerinde; sevgi, barýþ, hoþgörü ve yaþama sevinci gibi konularý
iþlemiþtir. 1991 yýlý UNESCO tarafýndan Yunus Emre Yýlý olarak ilan edilmiþtir.
Yunus Emre: Most eminent Turkish folk poet. He urged people trustworthiness and truthfulness during his life. He
wrote his poems on love, peace, tolerance and joy of life. 1991 was dedicated to Yunus Emre as Yunus Emre Year by
UNESCO.
Nasreddin Hoca: 13. yüzyýlda yaþamýþ bir halk bilgesidir. Türk folklorunun en önem-
li fýkra kahramanýdýr. Halka öðüt verirken kendine has üslubunu kullanmýþtýr. Sosyal
içerikli fýkralarýyla insanlarý; iyiye, güzele ve doðruya yönlendirmiþtir.
Nasreddin Hoca: Nasreddin was a populist philosopher and wise man living in the
13th Century, who is remembered for his funny stories and anecdotes.
Mehmet Akif Ersoy (1873-1936): Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin millî þairidir. Ýstiklal Marþý’nýn yazarýdýr.
Mehmet Akif Ersoy: He is the national poet of the Turkish Republic and wrote the Turkish National Anthem.
Pîrî Reis: Ünlü Türk denizcisidir. Deniz bilimleri üsta-
dýdýr. Ýlk dünya haritasýný çizdi. Çizdiði haritada Amerika’nýn
doðu kýyýlarý, Atlantik Okyanusu ve Avrupa’nýn batý kýyýlarý
açýk bir þekilde görülür.
Pîrî Reis: Most eminent Turkish
sailor, geographer and cartographer. He
prepared the world's first map. In this
map, the east coast of America; the
atlantic Ocean; and the west coast of
Europe can be clearly seen.
