Once In A While Foods
       •  You should only eat some foods once in a
          while because they have a lot of sugar and
          solid fats in them.
       •  Examples of once in a while foods include:
          ○  Cookies
          ○  Sugary drinks
          ○  Ice cream
          ○  Bacon
          ○  Potato chips
          ○  Candy bars


       Make Healthy Choices
       •  Choose fruit or vegetables instead of
          candy
       •  Choose water instead of soda
       •  Choose yogurt instead of ice cream


       Student activity ideas:
       1.  Print off ChooseMyPlate.gov coloring
          sheets from http://www.choosemyplate.
          gov/print-materials-ordering.html under
          “Materials for Children” and have students
          color foods that they like from each food
          group on the plate.  You could also give
          each group a list of foods to draw and
          color on their section.
       2.  Cut or tear out pictures of different foods
          from magazines and have students put
          each picture into the food group it belongs
          in.
       3.  During snack time, talk about healthy
          choices for snacking and once in a while
          foods.
