At the end of the Sixth Year of Primary Education, all students are assessed individually in order to check the degree of mastery of skills, aptitude and abilities in oral and written expression and comprehension, numeracy and problem solving in relation to the degree of acquisition of the competence in linguistic communication and competence in mathematics. Also, at the end of the sixth year of Primary Education, all students are assessed individually in order to check the degree of acquisition of competence in linguistic communication, competence in mathematics and key competence in science and technology, and to ensure that the objectives of the stage have been achieved.
Along with the assessment of the student, which is a continuous and comprehensive process, and addressing the subjects that make up the curriculum, teachers should also assess the teaching processes and teaching itself in relation to achieving the educational objectives of the curriculum. The way the school follows the curriculum and the teaching programme should also be assessed, as should curriculum development with regard to how it adapts to the educational needs of the school and the specific characteristics of its students.
