PART 3: METHODOLOGY Teaching Methodology
This teaching programme is sustained on a student centred methodology:
1. The starting point in the students’ learning is their previous knowledge; focusing
on what may seem close and familiar to the students.
2. Competence learning aims to develop each student's potential and skills, and train
them to deal with personal challenges throughout their life in a successful way.
3. Communicative situations that include discussions, role-plays, projects and
games, which capture the motivation of students and help them learn.
4. Collaborative learning involving students working together in projects and the
completion of tasks.
5. Contribute to the development for the ability of “learning to learn”. This principle
will be materialised in the contents. With the LOE and its premise of “culture of effort”
this principle emphasises in responsible work and effort of students.
6. Promote the construction of meaningful learning. I will need to take into account my students’ capacities, previous knowledge, needs and interests in order to achieve this
principle.
7. Promote active participation on the part of the student. Motivation is an important
item in the teaching-learning process. So, varied stimuli will be used to attain:
emotional, intellectual and social skills.
8. Contribute to build a mutual acceptance and cooperative environment in the
class. I will introduce activities in pairs or groups in which they will respect each other and collaborate in order to achieve a common goal.
