8. Smithsonian and ASM spreading
“Outbreak” around the world
In 2018, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History launched the exhibit “Outbreak: Epidemics in a
Connected World”.
The exhibit highlights to the general public the importance of One Health concept and how to control and avoid
the spread of infectious diseases around the globe.
In collaboration with ASM Ambassadors, the exhibit is now travelling the world: a DIY version of “Outbreak” is being
presented in more than 10 countries, from South America to Asia.
