       THE FIRST-EVER  On June 13 at Tampa Bay, Shohei Ohtani became the first-ever Japanese-born player to hit for
       the cycle...Ohtani collected a home run in the first inning, double in the third, triple in the fifth and capped off the
       cycle with a single in the seventh...It was the eighth cycle in Angels history and the sixth as a DH in MLB history...
       According to STATS LLC, he is the second player in modern era (since 1900) to win multiple games as a pitcher and
       hit for the cycle as a batter in his career (Hall of Famer George Sisler; 5 wins, 2 cycles)...He is also the 16th player
       to win Rookie of Year and hit for the cycle during his career.
       ATTENDING ALL-STARS  At the 2019 All-Star Game in Cleveland, Mike Trout went 0-for-2…In his ASG career (eight
       selections; seven games played), Trout is 7-for-17 (.412) with two doubles, one triple, two home runs, four RBI and
       three walks…Among players with at least 15 career ASG plate appearances, Trout’s 1.500 OPS ranks first all-time…
       His .412 average (7/17) ranks seventh...Was joined by first-timer Tommy La Stella who was voted in as a reserve by
       his peers... La Stella did not play due to a right tibia fracture.
       THE ROOKIE  Griffin Canning made his Major League debut on April 30 and became the first player drafted by
       Billy Eppler as Angels general manager to reach the Majors . . .He was the third player selected in the 2017 First-Year
       Player Draft to reach Majors, following: Kyle Wright (Braves – 5th overall pick) and Nick Margevicius (Padres –
       7th round)...He set an Angels record with 69 strikeouts through his first 12 career Major League games, breaking
       previous mark of 65 by Jered Weaver...Also broke Weaver’s record with 77 strikeouts through 14 career games.
       NICK ADENHART AWARD The Nick Adenhart Award, annually voted on by Angels players, goes to the top pitching
       performer for the season...2019 recipient was Hansel Robles...He appeared in 71 games for the Angels with a 5-1
       record with 23 saves, 75 strikeouts, 16 walks a 2.48 ERA (75.2 IP - 20 ER) and a .221 BAA (58/262)...His 23 saves
       were the most for an Angels pitcher since Huston Street had 40 in 2015 .
       TEAM MVP For the eighth straight season, Mike Trout was voted by his teammates as the Angels Most Valuable
       Player (extending his club record)...In 134 games, he batted .291 (137/470) with 110 runs scored, 27 doubles, two
       triples, 45 home runs, 104 RBI, 110 walks, 11 stolen bases, .438 OBP and 1.083 OPS.
       ROBERTO CLEMENTE AWARD For the second consecutive season Andrew Heaney was named the Angels recipient
       of the Roberto Clemente Award which is given to a player who exemplifies “the game of baseball, sportsmanship,
       community involvement, and the individual’s contribution to his team.”... Over the past two years, Heaney has
       helped organize a mission trip with several other big leaguers through “Hearts 2 Honduras” and “Pastime Youth
       Academies” to the communities surrounding San Pedro Sula, Honduras... Heaney also contributes to Players Trust,
       which donated baseball equipment to his high school and regularily participates in Angels Baseball Foundation
       events... In addition to this Heaney and his wife Jordan hosted their 3rd annual Pup Cup 5K-9 event with the
       mission of providing patients at CHOC with support and therapy dogs.
