                        KEVIN FERRIS                     quantitative analysis

                         Kevin  Ferris  embarks  on  his  second  season  as  the  Club's  Director  of
                       Quantitative  Analysis.  He  joined  the  Halos  prior  to  the  2019  season  after
                       serving  as  a  research  and  development  assistant  in  the  Tampa  Bay  Rays'
                       Analytics Department from 2015-2018.  In his current role, Ferris will work
                       closely with GM Billy Eppler and the baseball operations staff focusing on a
                       variety of analytical initiatives and statistical modeling.
                         Ferris,  29,  grew  up  in  Montana  and  earned  both  a  bachelor  of  science   front office
                       (mathematics & science) and a master’s degree (statistics) from Montana State
        University-Bozeman.  He also worked at the university as a graduate teaching assistant (Aug. 2013 -
        May 2015).
          Before graduation in 2015, Ferris spent time as an intern for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)
        in Pasadena, CA during the summer of 2012.  In 2014, he got his start in Major League Baseball as a
        Baseball Operations Intern for the Philadelphia Phillies.

                         CARLOS GOMEZ                 international scounting

                         Carlos  Gomez  enters  his  eighth  campaign  as  the  Angels  Director  of
                        International  Scouting.    The  Puerto  Rican  native  leads  the  Halos'  amateur
                        scouting efforts in Latin America, Asia and Europe.  Part of Gomez’s focus
                        centers around the Club’s Dominican complex in Boca Chica, DR (Academia
                        de Abel Garcia).
                         Gomez served as the Arizona Diamondbacks International Scouting Director
                        from 2011-12 after joining the organization as a pro scout following the 2007
        season .
          A former right-handed pitcher, Gomez prepped at Academia del Perpetuo Socorro in San Juan,
        PR and played four years collegiately (1998-2001) at Purdue University (IN).  Upon graduation with
        a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Carlos pitched for three seasons in the Independent
        League (2002-04) in Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  Gomez compiled a 2-2 mark with three
        saves and a 4.25 ERA in 56 IP relief outings.  He also played for Caguas in the Puerto Rican Winter
        League from 2003-04.
          Carlos and wife, Maggie, reside in Orlando, FL.

                       NATE HOROWITZ                    professional scouting

                         Nate  Horowitz  was  promoted  to  his  current  role  in  October  of  2016.
                       Horowitz oversees the day-to-day operations of the pro scouting department,
                       and  advises  the  office  of  the  general  manager  on  all  manners  of  player
                       acquisition.  He previously worked in amateur scouting, where he assisted in
                       the management of the draft process.
                         Horowitz, 31, began his baseball career in 2011 as an intern in the baseball
                       operations  department  of  the  Arizona  Diamondbacks,  focusing  on  advance
                       scouting, the amateur draft, and the arbitration process. In 2010, Nate served
        as the 16U National Team Coordinator for USA Baseball in Durham, NC. The Newton, MA native
        received his bachelor’s degree in economics in 2010 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
        Hill.  Nate lives in Aliso Viejo with his wife, Jacki, and daughter, Everly.
