Percent of Hoosiers with Well Controlled Asthma
There is currently not an indicator for the number of percent of Hoosiers with well-controlled
asthma. InJAC could consider using the child, and adult asthma calls back survey data to develop
this indicator. Guidance for indicator development can be found in a 2015 article published in the
Journal of Asthma presented an assessment of asthma control and associated risk factors using
the child and adult asthma call back survey. The authors used the definition of asthma control
categories adopted from the National Asthma Education Prevention Program Expert
Panel Report 3
Guidelines as shown below:
