a 30 and losing the lead to Korogianos and Kirby – both

shooting 27s. With one round remaining, the players stood

at 192 192 194. Age was in favor of Korogianos, as the two
seniors (Kirby and English) had two full days of heat,

tension, excess concentration and stress. But the senior

citizens held their own and watched Korogianos struggle to
a 32. English shot a respectful 29 and Kirby maintained his

impressive consistency by shooting a 28 and attaining a 3-
stroke victory. It was Kirby’s 5th major championship… and

It will be interesting to see what this year’s “Invitational” will have in

store for the players. What started as an elite 47-player invite-only

contest has evolved over the years into an open-invitational major
tournament that never ceases to provide excitement. The Burlington

course is as beautiful as ever, with a few holes re-designed to create

more psychological challenges. It will also be the site where the next
member of the elite Hall of Fame will be announced. An energizing

weekend awaits the players.
