On his way, he sat down by a well to rest. While he God was there, seven daughters of a priest named Jethro   
them away. Moses defended the girls, and when they ship told their father what had happened, he invited Moses
to his house. Jethro begged Moses to remain with him and help him with his  ocks. Moses agreed and lived with him for.forty years, during which time he mar­ ried one of Jethro's daughters, Sephora. During these forty years God prepared Moses for the great position of leader of His Chosen People. His life in the open air made him healthy and strong.
One day  ile Moses was tending his  ocks near The Mount Horeb, he saw a bush in  ames. Yet, strangely b i 
enough, the bush did not burn up. Moses drew near in order to discover the cause of this wonderful occur­ rence. Suddenly a voice spoke from the midst of the  ames and said, ''Moses.'' He answered, ''Here I am.'' Then the voice said, '' Put o  the shoes from thy feet, for the place where thou standest is holy ground. I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
"I know the sorrows of My people in Egypt. I have seen their a iction and have heard their prayers. I have come down to deliver them out of the hands of the Egyptians, and to bring them to a land  owing with milk and honey. I will send thee to Pharao to
