Josue sent forty thousand ghting men to march around the walls of the city every day for six days. On the seventh day, the soldiers, the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant, and all the Israelites marched around the walls seven times. At the end of the seventh trip, Josue gave the command, ''Shout, for the Lord hath delivered the city to you.''
