                            MESSAGE OF CONGRATULATION AND APPRECIATION.

In February 1985 Hindu Associations, Temple Trusts and some Hindu Personalities formed the
Hindu Council Of Sri Lanka(HCSL) with a view to protect and develop the Hindu religion,
strengthen Hindu Societies, look after the welfare of Hindus, assist and restore Hindu Temples
and to promote Hindu culture and customs of the Tamils.

However due to the war that ended in May 2009 HCSL mainly concentrated on the welfare of
the affected Tamils irrespective of their caste or religion in the north and east especially the
widows who had suffered immensely. They could not look after their children since breadwinner
of families have been killed during the period of war.

HCSL with the assistance of Tamil Diaspora had been working hard to alleviate the sufferings of
the poverty stricken war widows for which large amount of funds are required .It is in this
context that Tamil Engineers Foundation of Australia helped the HCSL in a big way to finance
the widows for engaging in livelihood activities. Some of the livelihood activities are sewing,
home gardening, dairy farming, poultry farming and shop keeping.

Recently due to the curfew imposed in Sri Lanka for the prevention of COVID-19 spreading, the
Foundation has financed for the supply of dry rations to widowed families as they have lost
their income during the three months period beginning from March 2020.

Therefore HCSL is ever grateful to the Foundation for its unstinted financial and moral support
to us. It has to be mentioned gratitude is the heart remembering the help that is given expecting
nothing in return. It is this gratitude that HCSL wishes to express to the members of the
              Foundation.

We are happy that the Tamil community living in Australia rallying round to help those
unfortunate living in north and east of Sri Lanka with its generous financial and moral support.
We would like to thank them for this great help without which the upliftment of those
              vulnerable people cannot be had.

May the Lord shower His choicest blessings on Tamil Engineers Foundation and its members.

              PRESIDENT.
