gence in fornication once he is satiated with fornication with women
after which it is a man’s nature to lust, as the Ramban (ibid.) writes,
“Excessive lust will build up within his soul… and it will further de-
sire evil things for which he formerly had no desire.”

So too writes the Sefer Hachinuch (Mitzvah 209): “Among the
roots of this mitzvah are that Hashem, blessed be He, wants His
world that He created to be populated. He therefore forbade wasting
seed by cohabitation with males, for this is true wastage for it yields
no benefit, neither of offspring nor in terms of marital relations. This
is besides the fact that that filth is extremely abhorrent and disgusting
in the eyes of any intelligent person. It is unbecoming for man, who
was created to serve his Creator, to degrade himself with such dis-
gusting behavior. I saw that according to the Ramban z”l, the negative
precept ‘There shall be no male prostitute among... Yisrael’ (Devarim
23:18) comes to warn that we should not allow the existence among us
– the holy nation – of any male harlot, meaning a man who is ready to
cohabit with males, such as are known to exist in the Ishmaelite lands
to this day.” These comments intimate that homosexuality is not an
uncontrollable natural tendency but simply a disgusting abomination.

   ɳ Response to Question Three

Before responding to the question of whether a married man should
disclose his degenerate spiritual situation to his wife, I want to
present a similar question that I was asked by doctors, concerning a
woman who had concealed from her husband that she suffered from
diabetes, who gave birth. In the hospital it became apparent that the
baby also suffered from this condition. The woman pleaded that this
should not be written on the child’s letter of discharge from hospital,
so that her husband shouldn’t know that the baby had diabetes and
realize that she too suffered from it. I was asked whether the child’s
condition should be revealed to the father so that he should be able to
treat his child when necessary or whether, just as the woman had hid-
den the fact that she herself suffered from diabetes and was treated
with insulin from her husband and was keeping this secret from him
