24 The Ex-Offender’s Job Interview Guide
3. Indicating what changes you have made in your situation so that the negative
behavior will not occur again
4. Indicating how long it has been (if a significant length of time) since the offending
behavior took place
5. Stressing your determination to never engage in the offending behavior again
For now, start by just listing your red flag behaviors on the numbered lines. List the
most important ones from pages 9-10 as well as any additional ones you think of now.
SAMPLE
Skip the lines marked “A” and “B” and leave those blank for now. We will come back
to those later. List all the major red flag knockout things you can think of. If you take a
shortcut and omit some, they may relate to questions you are later asked in an interview
and you may not be prepared with good responses. That could keep you from getting
the job.
