1.1.2 Describe water distribution system from plant to consumers

After water is treated, it is channelled into storage tanks and distributed to
consumers. Distribution system is important to ensure clean, safe and sufficient

water is distributed to consumers.

Distribution methods

•After undergoing treatment process, water stored in the storage tank is

distributed through distribution system.

• Water can be distributed by the following methods:

i. Gravity
ii. Pump

iii. Pump and reservoir
