Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day!

Neither was the newest CDL testing pad in Rome, Floyd County! However, since opening this additional
CDL testing site on December 5, 2017, it has immediately and dramatically reduced the wait time for CDL
road test reservations. Prior to the Rome CDL addition, the Dalton CSC had a wait time of six weeks for
commercial vehicle testing. In less than one month, the wait times at both Dalton and Rome were
nonexistent! Zero wait for a commercial road test at either center! A partnership with Floyd County
Government is making it easier for customers in North Georgia to reserve a commercial vehicle road test
by increasing the number of testing locations statewide. By adding forty CDL testing slots each month in
Rome and continuing to provide 64 public and between 200-300 driving school student tests in Dalton,
DDS is now meeting the demand for CDL road tests in North Georgia! Congratulations to everyone who
played a part on building and operating this new CDL service.
