includes the wicked fallen angels. It speaks of powers and
principalities and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places.
Whatever definition you give, it’s got to include the third heaven
where God is and where the fallen angels are.

I suggest that these four words include all five ways it’s used.
“The unseen spiritual world”. That’s heavenly places. There
are different aspects to the unseen spiritual world. Chapter 1:20
is one aspect, chapter 6:12 is a completely different aspect. But
what he’s saying is that our riches are spiritual riches. We’re not
talking about the coin of this world. When we say that we’re rich
in Christ, we’re not talking about the fact that He’s going to
provide your rent. Give you bread, a job, put clothes on your back
and put oil in your tank. That’s not what we’re talking about. It’s
bigger than that. It is spiritual riches in heavenly places in Christ
        Jesus our Lord.

What makes Christians differ? Let’s look at chapter 1:17-23,

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the
knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be
enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of His
calling; what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in
the saints and what is the surpassing greatness of His power
toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the
workings of the strength of His might which He brought
about in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated
Him at His right hand in heavenly places far above all rule
and authority and power and dominion and every name that
is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.
And He put all things in subjection under His feet and gave
