We experienced a deep loss on January 30, 2020. Walter D. Plaine, friend and
mentor to many, passed away on that day at the age of seventy-one.
By all accounts, Walt was everything you never knew you always wanted in a
technologist, in a co-worker, and in a friend. A wonderful soul, he was always
nice, always friendly, and always willing to give of himself to help others. He
leaves us with an enduring image – the image of a kind and compassionate
man ever-ready to lend a helping hand, carrying on toward a new adventure
in a wondrous place just beyond the horizon.
This world will surely be different without Walt and he will surely be missed.
