New Medical Director
Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging
Welcome, Dr. Jen Hoang as our new Medical Director
for Johns Hopkins Medical Imaging. Dr. Hoang will
also be serving as our Vice Chair of Radiology
Enterprise Integration.
She has earned her M.B.B.S. from the University of
Melbourne, completed a residency in diagnostic
radiology at St. Vincent's Hospital and fellowships in
cardiothoracic radiology and neuroradiology at Duke
University Medical Center. Dr. Hoang is a lifelong
learner - she graduated with a Masters in Health
Science from Duke University in 2017 and is an
executive MBA 2019 candidate at the Duke Fuqua
School of Business.
Formerly the Director of Head and Neck Radiology
and Chair of the Grand Rounds Committee at Duke
University, Dr. Hoang’s career is accentuated by her
strong involvement in research and education. She led
the American College of Radiology (ACR) efforts in
producing a White Paper on Incidental Thyroid
Findings and was a core member of the ACR TI-RADS committee for thyroid ultrasound. She
serves on several ACR committees including the Incidental Findings Committee. She also serves on
the National Cancer Institute PDQ Screening and Prevention Editorial Board.
Dr. Hoang has published more than 110 peer-reviewed articles with a focus on thyroid and
parathyroid imaging. Dr. Hoang was the recipient of GE-Radiology Research Academic Fellowship
(GERRAF) Program (2010-2012) and ACR Innovations Grant (2017). Dr. Hoang is the principal
investigator for an ACRIN funded study using ACR's Multicenter Thyroid Ultrasound Registry. She
is a popular a faculty lecturer at national and international meetings. She is also actively educating
and advocating on Twitter @JennyKHoang.
Dr. Hoang's dedication to learning is paralleled by her commitment to ensuring patients experience
