down in East Pointe, went across Lake
Bob & Susan Bryson St. Clair and over Harsen’s Island,
3272 South Channel Drive where nearly 30 homes were destroyed,
7650 South Channel Drive then continuing on over Canada.
Harsens Island, MI Also, June 1946 "The tornado, which
weather bureau officials said travelled
more than 250 miles an hour, tore on
through the business district of populous
River Rouge, leaving a trail of destruc-
tion in its wake. Then it zoomed across
the Detroit river, the suction of the tor-
nado creating four huge waterspouts."
Brrr... This shot was taken at the boat launch ramp in Algonac on the St. Clair
River. If you look in the background, a freighter is stuck in the ice flows and is
being assisted by a Coast Guard Cutter. Even in the winter, take a drive along
the shores of the lake and rivers, it's quite amazing year round.
