featured commentator on WRC radio until February 1998 when they changed
formats. Since 1995 I have been a biweekly columnist for the Federal Times,
where I also answer technical questions on their “Meet the Experts” website.
In 2001, I was a contributing writer for two Internet companies:
FEDweek.com and planetgov.com. I resumed writing weekly columns for
FEDweek in 2003.
I have been a board member of the Council of Former Federal Executives
(COFFE) since 1996 and served as its president in 1997-1998 and in 2002-
2003. I was vice president of the National Association of Retired Federal
Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1133 (Leesburg) in 1998 and its president in
1999-2000. I was president of the Hamilton Ruritan in 2001, and served as
vice-president in 2000. In 2002, I became the Zone 7 Governor of Ruritan for
the Rappahannock District, in 2003 the District’s Lt. Governor, and in 2004
its Governor. I continued on the District Cabinet through 2008, then serving
as the Zone 6 Governor from 2009 to 2011. Since 2015, I have been the
Hamilton Ruritan chapter’s chaplain and, beginning in 2018, a member of the
Hamilton Ruritan Foundation.

I am Reginald M. Walden Sr., Managing Member, Walden Management
Consultant Agency, LLC, with over 50 years of management consulting
experience.
I retired from my federal career with nearly 30 years of service under the
Civil Service Retirement System. Over 20 years of service was with the U.S.
Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Government Contracting and
Business Development and the Office of Field Operations.
I achieved certifications in two areas: 1) Federal Acquisition Certification in
Contracting (FAC-C), including Application Processing, Review, and Program
Management, SDB, Hubzone, Women, Vets, Mentor Protégé, Joint Venture,
Change of Ownership, Buy & Sell, and Sole Source, Contract Modification;
and 2) Business Process Reengineering Certification, which included Roll-
Out & Close-Out of SDB program (Management Team) and Process
Improvement of programs.
