SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Volunteer
As a cause-driven charity, Tampa
YMCA relies heavily on the
support of volunteers to help
coach sports teams, plan events,
raise funds and handle hundreds
of other key responsibilities.

Although you may volunteer your time for many
reasons, the Tampa Y understands your primary
motivation is to give back in a significant way to your
local community. For this reason, we are committed
to the long-term training and development of
volunteers so they can become meaningfully
integrated into YMCA programs and operations.
The Y is also a great place for teens to volunteer
and earn hours for graduation requirements and
scholarship opportunities. All volunteers must
complete a volunteer application, background
screening and Child Abuse Prevention Training.
Our goal is to challenge teens to serve the
community and to help them grow in who they
are and how to lead those around them.

Service Clubs
Teen Leaders Club
Make a difference through YMCA Teen Leaders
Club, a leadership development and community
service program that helps teens discover their full
potential. It is a safe place where teens can come
and simply be themselves.
Teen Leaders Club is a year-long leadership-
development program for middle and high school
teens. This program provides teens with extensive
leadership training and volunteer opportunities that
support YMCA programs and provide service to the
community. In addition to teaching teens leadership
through service, Leaders Club advisors:
•
Introduce teens to all the work the Y
does to strengthen the community.
Inspire and prepare teens to
become future Y leaders.
