children in each of the countries where we work. Baby Gage received surgery
during our first ever Cardiac Medical Exchange, which was recently held in Hefei,
Anhui. Drs Langley and Ringewald from St. Joseph’s Children’s Medical Center
in Tampa, Florida went to China to provide heart surgery for both orphaned and
rural children. During that week, Gage received surgery for a large hole in his
heart.
Unfortunately, soon after being discharged from the hospital, Gage began spiking
fevers and had difficulty breathing. He was readmitted to the hospital, where he
was diagnosed with a lung infection. Your kindness made it possible for us to
move Gage immediately back to the hospital for the post-op care he needed. We
know you’ll agree that he is one gorgeous little guy, and thankfully he is now
back at the Anhui Healing Home charming the socks off his nannies. With his
heart repaired, we are very hopeful that he will have a wonderful chance at
adoption.
